CDL-A Local Grocery Driver – Good Pay | Home Daily
Earn $85,000–$100,000 annually delivering fresh and frozen groceries throughout the New York region. This dedicated position offers daily home time, consistent work, and mostly no-touch freight.

- Average Annual Pay: $85,000–$100,000
- Average Weekly Pay: Approximately $1,650–$1,950
- Seniority-based yearly average: $83,600–$87,600
- Approximately 1,409 miles per week
- Double dock pay available
Job Details
- Deliver fresh and frozen groceries using 53-, 51-, and 48-foot refrigerated trailers.
- Deliver to supermarkets and distribution centers within 250 miles of Chester, NY.
- Service the Hudson Valley, New York City boroughs, Long Island, New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania backhaul areas.
- Approximately 20–25% of freight delivers in New York City.
- Handle multistop loads, typically 15 or more stops per week.
- Complete two loads per day or one longer load.
- Pick up returns or backhaul freight after deliveries.
- Mostly no-touch freight; occasional pallet-jack unloading may be required when supporting other accounts.
- Support other local distribution-center accounts approximately 2–3 days per week.
Shift Details
- Schedule: Sunday–Thursday
- Start times: 1:00 AM–5:00 AM
- Workweek: Five days, with two mandatory sixth days each month
- Sixth days are also mandatory around major holidays.
- New drivers will not run New York City routes until they have been on the account for at least six months.
- Before solo NYC routes, drivers train with NYC-certified trainers.
- Thanksgiving and Christmas are off; New Year’s Day is not guaranteed off.
Job Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL
- Minimum 3 months of truck driving experience
- Reliable personal transportation to and from work every day
- Strong customer-service skills
- Ability to assist with pallet-jack unloading when needed
- Willingness to support other local accounts
- No SAP drivers
Equipment & Benefits
- Automatic and manual day-cab tractors

- Slip-seat operation; drivers may share trucks with opposite-shift drivers
