Description
ICP is seeking a Quality Leader to join our team in Tampa, FL. The Quality leader is responsible for leading quality assurance and product quality initiatives and ensuring the delivery of high-quality products across all Gardner-Gibson & Sun Coatings plants within BU Roofing & Driveway Sealers. The role is focused on reducing process variation and increasing production efficiency through analysis and continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Leader works closely with Quality Director, R&D, and Operations teams to identify and fix product quality issues as well as process/manufacturing issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely together with the R&D team to determine finished product specifications & tolerances as well as to determine Certificate of Analysis requirements
- Together with Quality Director, identify KPI’s and use tools and systems, including audits, to support tracking, analysis, and supplier assessments of incoming raw material quality and resulting finished good product quality
- Define & monitor Right First-Time performance of plants and alert appropriate personnel (R&D and Operations) to facilitate changes in formulations as needed based on analysis and recommendations for process improvements, decreased process variation, and increased batch consistency
- Analysis of Quality KPI (Key Performance Indicators) across all Gardner-Gibson & Sun Coatings plants within BU Roofing & Driveway Sealers including customer complaints
- Support operations during batch manufacturing with leading & conducting RCA’s, 5 Why’s, CAPA’s, etc. to have timely response involving and execution of rework
- Monitor production processes using Statistical Process Control (SPC) tools such as control charts to optimize product quality, and to identify & mitigate process variation & process deviations that can result in potential manufacturing inefficiencies and product quality issues
- Support the development of a Quality mindset and awareness throughout the BU Roofing & Driveway Sealers plants with daily interactions for example in collaboration/morning meetings reporting out on quality metrics & performances
- Generation of accurate and timely documentation of quality test data and retains sample record
- Own the Tampa Sun Coatings Quality Management System (QMS) including making recommendations for changes to controlled documents and managing of established Quality SharePoint
- Monitors & ensures calibration requirements for lab equipment are met at each plant and facilitate certifications
- Be present and support all plant audits conducted by third party agencies
- Investigates quality claims and provides necessary data support to accept or deny such claims
- Compiles and supplies data covering plant and Quality KPI performance for monthly Quality Reports to Corporate
- Establish system to keep track of QC Cycle Time
- Manage plant CAPA & non-conformance log & track sheet
Requirements:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, quality or related field
- Required minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance
- Desired 10 years of experience operating within or leading a QMS based environment
- Desired experience in leading QA projects and mentoring junior team members
- Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
- Proficiency in analytical statistical tools such as Minitab, JMP etc.
- Familiarity with Lean & Six Sigma methodologies and tools
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a standard office, lab, and plant/manufacturing environment

- Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000/ year. Actual pay is dependent on candidates’ overall skills for the role
