The Quality Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of DG’s aerospace products and manufacturing processes. This position works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to develop and maintain effective quality controls, analyze production and inspection data, resolve quality issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on manufacturing experience, a practical problem-solving mindset, and the ability to apply quality tools such as FMEA, SPC, MSA, RCCA, and process capability analysis in a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain quality plans, control plans, inspection plans, and sampling plans for new and existing products.
- Support process validation, qualification, APQP, PPAP, production ramp-ups, and new product/process releases.
- Lead PFMEA/FMEA activities and implement SPC, process capability studies, and MSA to ensure effective process and measurement controls.
- Analyze quality data, inspection results, scrap, rework, and trends to identify problems and drive process improvements.
- Provide hands-on shop floor support, including Gemba activities and resolution of process, capability, tolerancing, and material-related quality issues.
- Lead RCCA activities using 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and other problem-solving techniques; ensure corrective actions are implemented and effective.
- Lead and coordinate MRB activities and support internal and external audits.
- Evaluate quality impacts of engineering and process changes and maintain appropriate quality documentation.
- Partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
- Perform responsibilities in accordance with the Quality Management System, AS9100, and applicable company policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by management.
- Comply with all DG safety procedures and policies as directed by the Facility Engineer/Safety Director
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related Engineering field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data to develop actionable conclusions and recommendations.
- Proficiency in quality management software and tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have, Not Required):
- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Lean Six Sigma Certification.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., FAA, EASA).
- Previous hands-on experience implementing and maintaining AS9100-compliant processes in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Direct experience with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Proven track record of establishing and tracking quality-related KPIs.
- Ability to mentor and train team members on quality processes and tools.
