Job Summary:

Provides a combination of duties related to both driving and instruction for the psychosocial rehabilitation program. The individual’s primary duties are associated with the transportation of the PSR members to and from home and the program including other appointments, social activities and community resources as needed. The individual’s secondary duties are as an instructor who will provide education and guidance to members of the PSR program. Encourages each member to fulfill their goals and functioning at their highest potential following a core set of principles and values. Individual will instruct and teach members on a daily basis providing materials and knowledge on various aspects of treatment and topics of interest from a pre-approved National curriculum. The individual will also fulfill duties related to transportation of the PSR members to and from home and the program including other appointments, social activities and community resources as needed.  

Core Competencies:

  • Demonstrate ability to work with multi-disciplinary adult recovery teams. 
  • Knowledge of New Mexico behavioral health systems. 
  • Ability to engage peers in recovery plan. 
  • Good written and communication skills. 
  • Uses good judgment as it relates to PSR clients. 
  • Knowledge of confidentiality, ethics and boundary issues related to peer support. 

Job Requirements:

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation, Education or a related human services field from an accredited university and one year of relevant experience with the target population or 
  • Hold an Associate’s degree in a human services or related fields from an accredited university plus two years of relevant experience with the target population and functional areas taught or 
  • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and four years of relevant experience with the target population and functional areas taught.
