As a senior member of the Management Accounting team, you will analyse financial performance, explain variances and identify opportunities to improve business outcomes. You will also support the Finance Manager with team workload management and lead two junior team members.
About the role
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing and finalising monthly venue profit and loss statements.

- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting and reconciliation processes through automation.
- Leading process improvement initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy and reporting outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with venue managers, department heads and finance stakeholders.
- Acting as a trusted finance business partner by providing practical and commercially relevant advice.
- Managing the workload, performance and development of two junior team members.
About you
You are an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting capability with commercial judgement and clear communication. You will be confident interpreting financial results, explaining complex information to non-financial stakeholders and supporting the development of others.
You will ideally have:
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- At least five years’ practical experience in a similar industry role or within a large or mid-tier accounting firm.
- Strong experience across month-end reporting, profit and loss analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, financial modelling and large data set analysis.
- Experience with Power BI, ERP or financial reporting systems will be advantageous.
- Previous people management or team leadership experience is desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving, numeracy and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- The confidence to make decisions and take ownership of outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- A proactive, organised and continuous improvement mindset.
Why join us?
You’ll join a collaborative Finance team supporting one of Australia’s leading hospitality groups. This role offers the opportunity to influence decision-making across a diverse venue portfolio, improve the way finance operates and develop your leadership capability in a growing business.
