Description
Jax Spine and Pain Center is seeking a compassionate, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our growing team.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, medication lists, and chief complaints.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Assist providers during patient visits and minor office procedures.
- Administer injections and medications as directed and within scope of practice.
- Perform EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical duties as assigned.
- Document patient information accurately within the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Coordinate referrals, authorizations, and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, procedures, and treatment plans.
- Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and safety standards.
- Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
- Collaborate with providers and team members to promote efficient patient flow and quality care.
Qualifications:
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Proficiency with computers and electronic medical records.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
- Prior experience in pain management, orthopedics, neurology, spine, or related specialty practice.
- Current Medical Assistant certification or ability to obtain certification within a designated timeframe.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a pain management, orthopedic, spine, neurology, or interventional specialty practice.
- Experience assisting with patient evaluations, procedure preparation, injections, and treatment plan follow-up.
- Familiarity with pain management terminology, medications, and treatment protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and patient-service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
