  • Base Salary $117,133 - $127,610 plus 17% superannuation 

 
About the opportunity 


The University Marketing and Communications Senior Officer (Museums) leads the planning, delivery, and project management of strategic marketing and communications initiatives for the University of Sydney’s museums and cultural programs. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to lead the Chau Chak Wing Museum’s marketing initiatives in order to grow audiences and enhance the University’s reputation. 

This role is ideal for a strategic marketing and communications professional who is passionate about the GLAM sector and thrives in a collaborative working environment. You will also provide overarching leadership and guidance to the Content Marketing Officer.  

 
Your key responsibilities will be: 

  • develop and project manage marketing communications initiatives and campaigns in support of the Museums and University’s strategies 
  • manage the development, production, and distribution of communications collateral across multiple channels, including social media, web and EDM 
  • identify opportunities to build the Museum’s reach, audiences and brand positioning  
  • maintain regular reporting on audience insights and behaviours, conduct competitive analysis and identify industry trends 
  • provide specialist advice regarding tertiary education and museum/cultural environments, emerging marketing communications trends and industry best practice 
  • develop effective and collaborative relationships with staff at all levels across the University and maintain a client-focused approach in the delivery of marketing and communications services 
  • contribute to broader service excellence and process improvement initiatives. 

About you 

  • experience working as a marketing and communications professional within the GLAM sector (public sector is also advantageous) 
  • demonstrated experience creating and/or integrating a marketing strategy for a business or institution 
  • proven capability in a wide range of digital marketing skills (CMS, EDMs, social media, SEO) 
  • strong organisational and project management skills, including the ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities 
  • extensive experience in developing and executing marketing communications campaigns and strategies across a broad range of channels and mediums 
  • strong influencing and negotiation skills to manage a diverse stakeholder base and ensure brand and strategy alignment across all work activities 
  • experience editing copy written by others to ensure a publication, print or online, is of a standard that meets editorial requirements and objectives.
