Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Consultant Sports Medicine Physician to join a leading healthcare organization in Abu Dhabi. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive, evidence-based care for athletes and active individuals, with a focus on sports injury prevention, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation, and performance optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and manage acute and chronic sports-related injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.Conduct comprehensive sports medicine assessments and develop individualized treatment and rehabilitation plans.Manage muscle, ligament, tendon, joint, and overuse injuries.Perform and interpret appropriate clinical investigations and imaging.Provide ultrasound-guided procedures and injections where appropriately trained.Develop injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-sport programs.Collaborate with orthopedic surgeons, physiotherapists, radiologists, rehabilitation specialists, and other healthcare professionals.Conduct pre-participation and fitness assessments for athletes.Support athletes with performance optimization and exercise prescription.Maintain accurate clinical documentation and follow evidence-based guidelines.Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical education, and quality-improvement initiatives.RequirementsMBBS/MD or equivalent medical degree.Recognized specialist/consultant qualification in Sports Medicine or an equivalent relevant specialty.Valid DOH (Department of Health – Abu Dhabi) license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain one.Significant post-specialization experience in sports medicine and musculoskeletal care.Strong clinical experience in the diagnosis and management of sports injuries.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.Preferred ExpertiseExperience in musculoskeletal ultrasound, ultrasound-guided injections, sports injury rehabilitation, regenerative medicine, exercise medicine, athlete screening, injury prevention, and return-to-play protocols will be advantageous.
