Job Summary for Lot Operations Supervisor
The Lot Operations Supervisor oversees daily lot and yard activities to ensure safe, organized, and efficient vehicle movement across auction property. This role coordinates vehicle staging, parking organization, traffic control, and sale-day readiness while enforcing safety standards and operational procedures. The Supervisor provides hands-on leadership to lot personnel and drivers and supports cross-department coordination to maintain auction flow and dealer satisfaction.

Work Hours for Lot Operations Supervisor
- Full time
- Monday - Wednesday 8:00AM - 4:30PM
- Thursday 6:30AM - 4:30PM
- Friday 7:45AM - 2:30PM
- Some overtime as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities for Lot Operations Supervisor
- Provides day-to-day supervision and task direction to Lot Drivers, Sale Day Drivers, and lot support staff.
- Assigns daily work activities and monitors workflow efficiency.
- Provides coaching and on-the-job training to team members.
- Monitors productivity, attendance, and operational performance.
Other Responsibilities for Lot Operations Supervisor
- Oversees daily lot operations including vehicle staging, parking organization, and traffic flow coordination.
- Ensures vehicles are positioned correctly in lanes, run areas, sold/unsold areas, and pickup zones.
- Coordinates vehicle movement priorities with Transportation, Sales, Registration, and Auction Operations teams.
- Monitors lot safety conditions and enforces compliance with site traffic and vehicle-handling procedures.
- Maintains lot organization, signage, directional flow, and safe navigation standards.
- Addresses minor operational disruptions and escalates major incidents to management.
- Reviews vehicle damage reports and supports documentation accuracy.
- Ensures sale-day readiness by confirming lot setup and vehicle availability.
- Tracks daily vehicle movement metrics and reports operational concerns to management.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities
- Strong operational awareness in high-traffic, vehicle-focused environments.
- Ability to supervise workflow and enforce safety standards consistently.
- Strong communication skills for cross-department coordination.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and use sound judgment in dynamic outdoor settings.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of vehicle handling and yard logistics practices.
- Basic computer and communication tool proficiency.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least 3 years of experience in lot operations, vehicle movement, logistics, transportation, or operations management.
- At least 1 year of lead or supervisory support experience preferred.
- Automotive, auction, dealership, or transportation experience preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods across large outdoor lots.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Ability to operate vehicles safely as required for oversight.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
