At Rabobank, we're not just a bank. As the world's leading specialist food and agribusiness bank, we are committed to creating a positive impact for our clients, communities and colleagues. Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we're passionate about fostering a strong, values-led culture that supports sustainable success.
We're seeking an experienced Senior Manager, Risk Culture to join our Integrated Risk team in Sydney. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to influence how risk culture is defined, measured and strengthened across Rabobank Australia and New Zealand (RANZ).
Working closely with the Board, Executive and senior leaders, you'll play a critical role in embedding a mature risk culture that supports effective decision-making, accountability and sound risk management across the organisation.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk Governance & Frameworks, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance and oversight of the Bank's Risk Culture Framework. As a key member of the second line of defence, you'll provide independent insight, challenge and guidance on how risk behaviours are assessed, measured and improved throughout the Bank.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the development and continuous enhancement of Rabobank's Risk Culture Framework.
Defining methodologies, governance, assessment approaches, indicators and reporting standards for risk culture.
Partnering with the Board and Executive to articulate clear behavioural expectations and desired risk culture outcomes.
Developing and delivering risk culture assessments, diagnostics and reporting across the organisation.
Identifying behavioural drivers behind incidents, findings, control weaknesses, breaches and risk events.
Designing and overseeing enterprise-wide risk culture surveys and analysing results to identify strengths, gaps and emerging risks.
Providing independent challenge and insights to divisional leaders on cultural root causes and improvement opportunities.
Monitoring the effectiveness of risk culture initiatives and action plans across the business.
Preparing and presenting high-quality reporting and insights for Executive Committees and the Board Risk Committee.
Supporting the integration of risk culture considerations into broader risk management and governance frameworks.
About You
You are a strategic risk professional who combines strong analytical thinking with an understanding of organisational behaviour and culture. You can influence senior stakeholders, challenge constructively and translate complex insights into practical actions.
To be successful, you'll bring:
7+ years' experience within risk management, operational risk, enterprise risk, compliance, conduct risk, internal audit, behavioural risk or risk culture.
Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and second line oversight within an APRA-regulated environment.
Knowledge of CPS 220, three lines of defence, risk appetite and governance frameworks.
Experience designing or implementing risk frameworks, assessment methodologies, governance processes or reporting frameworks.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data to uncover behavioural trends and insights.
Experience producing high-quality Executive and Board-level reporting.
Exposure to risk culture surveys, organisational culture diagnostics, behavioural assessments or conduct risk programs.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing capabilities.
Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related discipline. Postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
