Job Description
To oversee the audit function, ensuring the delivery of high-quality audit services aligned with strategic objectives. This job involves managing audit teams, developing audit plans, liaising with senior stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement in risk management and internal control frameworks.Purpose of the Position:
As the Audit Manager, would will plan, lead and deliver audit engagements that provide independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes. You will also translate the approved audit plan into high‑quality audit execution, manage audit teams and stakeholders, and ensure audit findings are clearly articulated, risk‑based, and value‑adding.
Are you someone who can:
- Plan and execute risk‑based audit engagements in line with the approved audit plan.
- Scope audits, develop audit programmes, and allocate resources appropriately.
- Lead fieldwork, testing, and evaluation of controls across financial, operational, compliance, or IT areas.
- Ensure audits are delivered on time, within scope, and to required quality standards.
- Review audit working papers and ensure conclusions are well supported.
- Draft clear, concise audit reports highlighting root causes, risk implications, and practical recommendations.
- Engage with management to agree findings, ratings, and action plans.
- Present audit outcomes to senior management and governance forums where required.
- Ensure audits align to internal audit standards, methodologies, and ethical requirements.
- Identify emerging risks, control weaknesses, and systemic issues.
- Monitor management action plans and follow up on remediation.
- Support regulatory reviews, external audits, and assurance coordination.
- Lead, coach and develop audit managers and teams to build capability, technical depth and a high-performance culture
- Allocate work, set expectations, and review performance and deliverables.
- Support audit planning, budgeting, and utilisation management.
You will be an ideal candidate if you meet the below requirements:
- Minimum: Degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, Risk, IT or related field
- Preferred: CA, CIA, CISA, CRMA, FRM, or equivalent professional qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in internal or external audit, risk or assurance roles.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role, effectively leading audit teams.
- Banking and financial services sector experience will be an added advantage.
