St John of God Warrnambool Hospital provides a comprehensive range of acute and specialist healthcare services to the Southwest Victorian community. The hospital offers a broad range of surgical services, including endoscopy, general surgery, gynaecology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and urology. As part of St John of God Health Care, the hospital is committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to patients and their families across the region.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered or Enrolled Nurse to join our Pre-admission Team in a permanent part-time capacity; we have two opportunities offering 15 hrs per week.

In this role, you will:

  • Maintain a high standard of clinical practice, adhering to infection prevention and control, medication safety and perioperative policies and procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary perioperative team to support safe and efficient surgical procedures and positive patient outcomes.

  • Assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient care, escalating concerns and seeking support from senior staff as required.

  • Support effective communication and teamwork within the perioperative department and across the wider hospital.

  • Provide patient education and reassurance, supporting patients and their families throughout the surgical experience.

  • Support and supervise staff and students as required, including participating in orientation, education and preceptorship.

  • Contribute to the achievement of hospital and clinical services operational objectives and the continuous improvement of perioperative services.

You will hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse, with recent perioperative nursing experience and a demonstrated commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. You will possess strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

The Benefits:

  • Enrolled Nurse Salary: $67,397 to $80,460 (pro rata basis for part time) plus 12% superannuation

  • Registered Nurse Salary: $85,480 to $107,881 (pro rata basis for part time) plus 12% superannuation

  • Permanent part-time position working 15 hours per week.
