Inventory Manager
Why This Role Matters
The Inventory Manager at Permatex, a division of ITW, plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, flow, and integrity of inventory operations that support manufacturing performance and customer satisfaction. In this position, you will lead the receiving team, oversee inventory control processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that ensure materials are available when needed while maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Success in this role means maintaining accurate inventory records, supporting uninterrupted production, developing a high-performing team, and partnering across departments to resolve inventory challenges, improve processes, and support business objectives.
What You Will Do
- Lead and develop the Receiving Department team, prioritizing work, coordinating schedules, and ensuring daily objectives are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Oversee receiving, inventory control, warehousing, and material handling processes to ensure inventory accuracy and operational excellence.
- Manage inventory levels, cycle count programs, and discrepancy investigations to maintain accurate stock records and support production requirements.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, EHS, and Accounting teams to resolve inventory issues, support month-end close activities, and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor warehouse operations, space utilization, equipment usage, and procedural effectiveness while identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
- Promote a strong safety culture by leading safety initiatives, participating in safety reviews, addressing concerns, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
What You Bring (Requirements)
- Associate’s degree in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, receiving, supply chain, or related manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to supervise, develop, and motivate employees in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience utilizing ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced inventory management system experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and root cause investigation skills.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
