Lease and Asset Accounting Analyst

The Lease and Asset Accounting Analyst is responsible for assisting the Accounting Department in creating accurate and timely financial records for the Company, primarily as it relates to fixed assets and lease accounting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Examine accounting and financial records to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards.

• Prepare records of accounts and input entries into relevant accounts.

• Perform reconciliations on a monthly basis.

• Monitor the capitalization of fixed assets to ensure that assets are being capitalized in accordance with the Company’s capitalization policy.

• Register fixed asset additions and dispose of fixed assets in a timely manner.

• Maintain records of fixed assets that are transferred to other locations.

• Partner with other departments to ensure the completeness and accuracy of fixed assets registered at a branch and state-at-large level.

• Partner with our Workday Analyst as needed to enhance fixed asset reporting.

• Manage the CoStar system and prepare lease accounting schedules. Also, ensure leases (office space or otherwise) are recorded in accordance with ASC 842.

• Develop and implement proper administration of financial records, making use of available technologies.

• Create forms and manuals as needed for the Accounting Department.

• Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization by telephone, in person and through other outlets.

• Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be able to learn other applications quickly, including in-house applications.

• Must be detail oriented and able to catch errors before they go out.

• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a demonstrated ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and demands.

• Must be able to demonstrate dependability and initiative.

Education and/or Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.

• 1-2 years of Accounting experience.

• Training or experience in computer applications.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to constantly remain in a stationary position.

• The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

• Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

• Occasionally may require light lifting up to 25 pounds.
