Agentic Software Engineer, Sr Staff

Overview

The Staff Agentic Software Automation Engineer sets automation and test direction for a domain or product area, leading the design of scalable automation systems built around agentic tools and approaches. This role has the technical depth and organizational influence to drive adoption of agentic automation practices, including agent orchestration and oversight, across teams, and serves as a senior escalation point for automation and test infrastructure decisions.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Set AI and Automation direction for a domain or product area, embedding agentic tools as the primary methodology for CI, infrastructure and SDLC workflows. 
• Serve as a senior escalation point for AI, automation and infrastructure decisions across multiple teams. 
• Build multi-agentic orchestration platforms and applications to scale-up the engineering team, execute workflows faster and enable data driven decision making. 
• Drive definition and adoption of AI implementation best practices, including agent orchestration and oversight, across teams. 
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align AI automation and priorities with business needs.   

What You Bring: 

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred). 
• Work Experience: 12-15 years developing tools for CI, test automation, infrastructure build/planning, including direction-setting across a domain or product area, and hands-on adoption of agentic or AI-assisted automation tools. 
• Deep technical leadership across AI tools, automation and test engineering for a domain or product area, with strong AWS/GCP and cloud infrastructure experience for building and deploying applications at scale. 
• Proficiency directing the development of AI-assisted automation tools within the engineering workflow, including orchestrating multi-step agent workflows to accelerate platform development, test engineering, and the SDLC. 
• Experience with modern agentic and test automation and development tooling (e.g., Kiro, Claude Code, Playwright, Shiplight, AWS/Terraform, CodeX, Cursor etc). 
• Mentoring senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholder management, coordinating automation and test priorities across teams.

Location: This position must be based in Irvine, CA and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $179,400 to $246,600 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
