Description

Come Innovate Motion with Us

We are seeking a highly motivated Graduate CAE Engineer specializing in Differential Assembly systems to support the development of next-generation Differential and Electric Drive Unit (EDU) products. The role focuses on developing simulation capability through structural and durability analyses of drivetrain components and assemblies under the guidance of experienced engineers. This person will work closely with design, testing, manufacturing, and project teams to support simulation-driven product development from concept through validation. The position offers structured technical development through collaboration with the global, international engineering teams contributing to the long-term establishment of CAE simulation capability within Johnson Electric.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform CAE analyses for differential assemblies, including housings, gears, shafts and related drivetrain components

  • Develop finite element models for structural and durability simulations

  • Support design optimization to achieve weight, durability and performance targets

  • Support the correlation of simulation results with laboratory and validation test data

  • Collaborate with design engineers throughout the product development process

  • Participate in design reviews, DFMEA activities and technical risk assessments

  • Prepare simulation reports and technical documentation

  • Support prototype validation activities and engineering issue resolution

  • Work closely with the global simulation teams to develop local CAE capability and engineering best practices

  • Continuously develop technical knowledge through structured training and mentoring

Our requirements:

  • Master's degree, or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related engineering discipline

  • Fresh Graduate or up to 2 years of relevant engineering experience

  • Internship, research project or university experience in CAE/FEA is preferred

  • Experience in drivetrains or transmission systems is an advantage

  • Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and structural mechanics and knowledge of mechanical design principles

  • Basic understanding of durability, fatigue and contact simulations

  • Experience with ANSYS, Abaqus, HyperMesh or similar CAE software is preferred

  • Basic understanding of automotive product development processes (APQP, DFMEA and Validation)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work in an international and cross-functional engineering environment

  • Strong willingness to learn and develop simulation expertise

  • Willingness to relocate to China for long-term career development (after approximately 2-3 years in the role)

  • Willingness to travel internationally for technical training and engineering collaboration

  • Native Chinese speaker or fluent Mandarin is required

  • Proficient in English (spoken and written) and German language skills would be an advantage

What we offer:

  • Work-life balance: through flexible working hours and 6 weeks of vacation

  • The opportunity to develop your professional skills thanks to the wide range of products we manufacture

  • Modern workspaces, good transport connections, free parking in the car park, health promotion, business bike, company pension scheme, regular company events, company football, and much more
