Job Title: Project Manager, Military Space Strategy and Execution

 

Job Summary:

KBR is seeking a Project Manager to advance execution excellence and growth initiatives across the Military Space Division. This role will contribute to the development of standardized program management practices, performance measures, digital resources, and scalable tools that improve program delivery and division-wide operational effectiveness.

 

The Project Manager will also support organic growth, working with program and operational teams to identify evolving customer needs, adjacent requirements, contract-expansion opportunities, and potential follow-on work. For competitive growth, the role will contribute to market and opportunity assessments, capture planning, solution development, proposal preparation, reviews, and customer presentations.

 

Working across program operations, business development, technical teams, and functional organizations, the Project Manager will help translate mission needs, customer insights, and delivery best practices into actionable growth strategies, differentiated solutions, and practical improvements to Military Space execution.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Delivery Excellence and Execution Strategy

• Lead the development and implementation of the Military Space Performance Excellence framework for program and project execution.
• Develop a scalable program management framework aligned with PMBOK principles, KBR best practices, contractual requirements, and customer expectations.
• Document standard processes, procedures, roles, templates, and tools that programs can tailor to their specific requirements.
• Conduct fact-finding with senior program managers to understand how major programs currently operate, including their processes, digital presence, tools, execution challenges, and effective practices.
• Review applicable Performance Work Statements, Contract Data Requirements Lists, and other contractual deliverables to understand program execution and reporting requirements.
• Establish key performance indicators and internal performance measures that support delivery excellence, customer satisfaction, and strong CPARS outcomes.
• Develop repeatable approaches for monitoring project cost, schedule, technical performance, staffing, risk, quality, deliverables, and customer commitments.
• Capture and share lessons learned and effective practices across Military Space programs.
• Help programs implement corrective actions and continuous-improvement initiatives based on performance trends and execution needs.

Organic and Competitive Growth Support

• Support organic growth by helping operating units and programs identify adjacent customer needs, emerging requirements, contract-growth opportunities, and potential follow-on work.
• Translate program insights, customer challenges, and execution lessons into actionable growth initiatives.
• Support competitive pursuits through market research, capture planning, solution development, proposal preparation, reviews, and oral presentations.
• Incorporate delivery-excellence processes, tools, metrics, and discriminators into competitive proposals and customer solutions.
• Develop training and practical resources that strengthen business acumen across the Military Space Division.
• Help operational teams understand their role in business development, customer engagement, organic growth, recompetes, and competitive captures.
• Facilitate collaboration among operations, business development, technical, contracts, finance, and functional organizations.
• Support development and implementation of the Division’s overall strategy, growth priorities, and execution vision.

 

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, business, management, or a related field.
• 5 or more years of project or program management experience in DoD, military space, aerospace, intelligence, or another technical environment.
• Experience developing or implementing project management processes, tools, standards, or governance practices.
• Experience managing schedules, resources, deliverables, risks, dependencies, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of PMBOK principles and disciplined project-management practices.
• Understanding of DoD acquisition, contracting, budgeting, program execution, or technical-review processes.
• Ability to analyze contractual requirements, including Performance Work Statements and Contract Data Requirements Lists.
• Experience supporting organic growth, capture, proposal development, customer engagement, or related business development activities.
• Strong facilitation, communication, analytical, organizational, and change-management skills.
• Ability to develop executive-level briefings, dashboards, process documentation, and implementation plans.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for assigned projects.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional certification.
• Experience supporting the U.S. Space Force, Space Systems Command, Air Force Research Laboratory, or related organizations.
• Experience developing program management offices, delivery-excellence frameworks, or enterprise project-management standards.
• Experience with SharePoint site development, project dashboards, performance metrics, and digital collaboration tools.
• Familiarity with CPARS, DoD contract deliverables, program controls, and customer-performance management.
• Experience supporting technical proposals, capture strategies, recompetes, and on-contract growth.
• Experience facilitating process improvement and organizational change across multiple programs or operating units.
• Familiarity with automation, analytics, Copilot, or responsible AI applications in project and program management.

 

Work Environment:

• Location: On site

• Travel Requirements: Moderate
• Working Hours: Standard, 40 hours per week (Full-time)

 

Compensation:

• For Colorado only, the salary range for this position is approximately $125,000 - $150,000. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

 

Other Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
