Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced, professional, and highly motivated Banquet Supervisor to join our team at an upscale private country club in Naples, Florida. The Banquet Supervisor will oversee the successful setup, execution, service, and breakdown of all club events, ensuring that every function reflects the high standards of hospitality and service expected by our members and guests.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences, communicates effectively with staff and management, and remains calm, organized, and professional in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Supervise and actively participate in the setup, execution, service, and breakdown of banquets, private events, club functions, weddings, meetings, and other special events.
- Ensure all event spaces are set according to specifications, including tables, chairs, linens, place settings, décor, bars, buffets, and service stations.
- Lead and direct banquet staff before, during, and after events.
- Communicate event details, timelines, service expectations, and member/guest requests clearly to the team.
- Work closely with the Banquet Manager, Food & Beverage management, culinary team, and other club departments to ensure seamless event execution.
- Monitor food and beverage service to ensure proper timing, presentation, quality, and hospitality standards.
- Maintain a professional and polished presence while interacting with members, guests, vendors, and fellow employees.
- Anticipate the needs of members and guests and respond promptly and professionally to requests or concerns.
- Assist with training, coaching, and motivating banquet staff.
- Ensure staff adhere to club policies, service standards, safety procedures, and proper grooming and uniform standards.
- Troubleshoot issues during events and make appropriate decisions under pressure.
- Monitor event timelines and ensure all functions stay on schedule.
- Assist with inventory, equipment, supplies, and proper storage of banquet items.
- Ensure event spaces are properly cleaned, organized, and restored following each function.
- Communicate any event-related issues, incidents, or member feedback to management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in banquets, catering, hospitality, food & beverage, or private club operations preferred.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to lead a team while also being willing to work alongside staff in a hands-on environment.
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to exceptional service.
- Professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for an upscale private club environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and varying event schedules.
- Ability to stand, walk, lift, carry, and move banquet equipment and supplies for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
