ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Aquatics Center Manager plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates all Aquatics Center and Splash Park operations, recruits, hires, trains, supervises, schedules, and evaluates aquatics staff, and develops and administers aquatics programs, swim lessons, water fitness classes, special events, and recreational activities. The Aquatics Center Manager coordinates facility inspections and conducts regular safety inspections to ensure compliance with Arkansas State Board of Health requirements, investigates accidents and incidents, and prepares required reports. The Aquatics Center Manager also develops and maintains partnerships with local businesses, civic organizations, schools, and outside agencies to promote the aquatics facility, identify, solicit, secure, and manage sponsorships and donations to support programs, special events, facility improvement, and community initiatives, and perform all other duties as assigned.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: High school diploma or GED;
Five (5) years of experience in aquatics, recreation, pool operations, and facility management or closely related field, including supervising personnel, managing facility operations, and coordinating programs and special events; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform essential functions of the position may be considered. Required Licenses and Certifications are: Valid Driver’s License, American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard, Lifeguard Instructor, Aquatics Facility Operator, Pool Operator, and CPR/AED. All licenses and certifications must be current or obtainable within six (6) months of employment. All certifications must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
