Description

The Data/Information Mgt Sr Mgr accomplishes results through the management of professional team(s) and department(s). Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Contributes to standards around which others will operate. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the entire function. Requires basic commercial awareness. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Has responsibility for volume, quality, timeliness and delivery of end results of an area. May have responsibility for planning, budgeting and policy formulation within area of expertise. Involved in short-term planning resource planning. Full management responsibility of a team, which may include management of people, budget and planning, to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations and may include budget approval.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end delivery of control automation tools, overseeing the entire Control Automation life cycle from requirement management to implementation.
  • Responsible for developing automation solutions that are scalable and can be re-purposed.
  • Lead a team of SMEs (Designers, Developers, Solution Leads, Production Support, etc.).
  • Develop and implement data analytics/automation strategies to support business objectives and drive decision-making processes.
  • Provide strategic recommendations based on data-driven insights to support business planning and resource allocation.
  • Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics/automation to constantly improve processes and methodologies.
  • Liaise with Business, R&C teams, Operations, and Technology stakeholders to identify Control Automation opportunities.
  • Critically assess new tools and AI solutions, identify those that align with the organization's goals and technical landscape, and implement them in the Control Automation area.

Project Management Skills

  • Champion and execute the controls automation strategic plan; suggest thought leadership ideas for target state.
  • Proficient with data manipulation and problem-solving to effectively work with large datasets and drive actionable conclusions.
  • Have good knowledge of project management principles; strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Understand the concerns, challenges, and roadblocks the team is facing and provide them with all required support to overcome the same.
  • Extensive knowledge of automation tools and technologies with the ability to solve complex problems.
  • Strong proficiency in developing professional PowerPoint presentations and demonstrating data insights through effective visual storytelling.

Technical Experience

  • Agentic AI & LLMs: Deep understanding of LLM architectures, prompt engineering, agentic design patterns (e.g., ReAct, reflection, planning), and multi-agent orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI).
  • MCP Framework: Hands-on experience or deep conceptual understanding of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how to build/configure MCP servers and clients for tool-use.
  • RAG Architectures: Proven experience building RAG pipelines, including vector databases (e.g., Chroma), semantic search, chunking strategies, and embedding models.
  • Citi ITESS Tools:
  • Appian: Strong knowledge of Appian BPM, Web APIs, integration SDKs, and process modeling.
  • Xceptor: Experience in Xceptor configuration, data ingestion, mapping, and EUC remediation workflows.
  • SAS: Proficiency in SAS programming, Enterprise Guide, and ETL/data manipulation activities.
  • Programming & Data: Strong proficiency in Python (for AI/RAG development), SQL, and RESTful API integration.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their practical applications, with the ability to identify and leverage AI solutions for real-world business scenarios.
  • Hands-on experience in automation tools and emerging techniques in the field of automation for data-related business problems.
  • Familiarity with workflow management tools like Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket (Version Control).

Other Skills

  • Proven leadership ability with experience in mentoring and developing a team of managers/SMEs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Contribute to organizational initiatives in wide-ranging areas including competency development, training, and organizational building activities.

Qualifications:

  • 14-17 years of experience
  • Experience developing and implementing analytical strategies
  • Knowledge of consumer financial services regulatory environment required
  • Track record of analytics innovation, data science, and new solution development
  • Experience developing and implementing analytical strategies in the financial services industry
  • In-depth understanding of the various financial service business models
  • Expert knowledge of advanced statistical techniques

Education:

  • Bachelors/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
