First (Days)Overview:
Sentara Health is looking to hire a Patient Service Coordinator.
Hours of operations are M-F 8:00am to 5:00pm. Must be flexible to work every other weekend.
A Patient Services Coordinator is responsible for intake of authorization requests via fax, phone, email and provider portal. Building authorization shells in JIVA, routing authorizations for nurse review.
Coordinates activities for specific practices, including insurance verification/obtaining pre-certification. Responsible for answering provider calls and assisting with questions related to authorization process. Outreach to providers to request clinical information needed for medical necessity review. Assist in scheduling peer-to-peer calls, as requested.
