The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Lead Field Service Engineer to lead and coordinate all field service operations within an assigned geography and service portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable execution of commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, upgrades, modernization projects, technical support, and service agreements. You will drive operational excellence by delivering superior customer service, meeting contractual and financial commitments, and ensuring compliance with Hitachi Energy policies, safety requirements, and quality standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing high-performing teams, strengthening customer relationships, optimizing service delivery, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement to support sustainable business growth and customer satisfaction.
How you will make an impact
Health, Safety, Quality & Compliance
Ensure compliance with HSE, quality, contractual, and regulatory requirements across all service activities.
Promote a strong safety culture through risk management, audits, toolbox talks, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead corrective actions, root cause analysis, and lessons learned to improve operational performance.
Field Service Operations & Leadership
Lead and coordinate field service teams and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality service execution.
Oversee installation, commissioning, maintenance, inspections, technical support, upgrades, repairs, service agreements, and decommissioning activities.
Ensure consistent application of service standards, processes, and best practices while driving operational excellence and resource optimization.
Customer Relationship & Business Development
Act as the primary escalation point for service-related matters and maintain strong customer relationships.
Drive customer satisfaction through responsive service delivery and proactive communication.
Support sales and tendering activities by providing technical expertise, execution planning, cost estimates, and identifying growth opportunities within the installed base.
Financial Performance & People Development
Monitor budgets, profitability, resource utilization, and cost performance to achieve business targets.
Manage workforce planning, competency development, training, and certification programs.
Coach and develop field service personnel to strengthen technical and leadership capabilities.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Ensure accurate service documentation, compliance records, and performance reporting.
Monitor key operational KPIs and implement best practices to enhance service quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
8-12 years of experience in power systems, field service operations, commissioning, maintenance, asset management, or a related area.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing service operations in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
Strong knowledge of utility, transmission, distribution, substation, transformer, power quality, and protection & control systems.
Proven ability to manage customer-facing service activities while delivering safe, high-quality, and efficient operational performance.
