Description

Job Summary:

Role: Head of Voice & Channel (Roc Nation Distribution)

Reports to: VP of Digital Marketing & Strategy

Location: New York, NY (In-office, 5 days a week)

The Role:

The Head of Voice & Channel is the driving force behind Roc Nation Distribution's social presence — executing across all handles, managing the brand's voice, responding to cultural moments in real time and bringing the broader digital strategy to life across every platform. These handles are never dark.

This position is responsible for leading a team of digital marketers and operating in two distinct capacities: as the Voice of Roc Nation Distribution, developing strategies that support and amplify the roster from an organizational perspective; and as the Voice of the Artist, working directly with artists to develop their own social identity and content strategy so they show up authentically on their own channels. The ideal candidate is highly connected, proactive, and fluent across every major social platform.

You will collaborate closely with the VP of Digital Marketing & Strategy and the Digital Strategy team to build and implement year-round campaign strategies.

This role owns a portfolio of brand relationships and contributes directly to achieving and exceeding revenue targets in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

Team Leadership

  • Leads, mentors, and manages the Voice & Channel team — setting priorities, workflows, performance standards, and operational processes for content approvals, publishing cadences, and rapid-response protocols

  • Fosters a high-performance team culture that encourages creative risk-taking, accountability, and professional development

Voice of Roc Nation Distribution

  • Creates and defines the Roc Nation Distribution channel identity and brand voice across all social platforms, the website, newsletters, and CRM touchpoints

  • Crafts, schedules, and publishes content across all Roc Nation Distribution social channels for distribution clients and projects

  • Implements strategic campaigns and responds to current events, cultural moments, and trending conversations in real time

  • Partners with the Digital Strategy team to develop year-long content and campaign strategies for owned channels

  • Implements a CRM strategy that exemplifies the voice of Roc Nation Distribution

  • Manages the Roc Nation Distribution website and social channels, including redesigns, content updates, and adoption of new platform features

Voice of the Artist

  • Partners with the Digital Strategy team to create year-long strategies for each artist and implements them across all campaigns and releases

  • Serves as the primary day-to-day digital point of contact for assigned distribution clients, leading social strategy, posting, and online brand presence

  • Develops and distributes onboarding documentation and guidelines for new artists and clients

  • Assists artists with their handles — posting on their behalf, flagging areas of interest, and advising on real-time posting opportunities

  • Accompanies artists to events, performances, and appearances for real-time capture, live posting, and on-the-ground content creation

  • Manages content calendars, posting schedules, and brand partnership tracking — overseeing deliverables, timelines, and requirements across all assigned artists

  • Facilitates community management by monitoring fan engagement, tracking trends, and engaging with key fan accounts to support fanbase growth

  • Other duties, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years in digital marketing, social media, or content creation within entertainment, music, or agency environments, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field preferred

  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-moving, always-on creative environment

  • Platform Expertise: Fluency across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Threads, Snapchat, and emerging platforms

  • Brand & Content Strategy: Experience defining brand voice, developing original content series and newsletters, managing website content, and executing CRM strategies

  • Content Creation: Strong mobile photography, video capture, and real-time editing skills (CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express/Lightroom)

  • Communication & Discretion: Professional demeanor with experience working directly with high-profile talent in fast-paced environments

  • Organization & Flexibility: Ability to manage multiple content calendars, partnership timelines, and fluid schedules simultaneously; willingness to work non-traditional hours and travel to support 24/7 coverage

  • Proven experience managing social media accounts for talent, brands, or media outlets

  • Experience with social publishing/listening tools (e.g., Dash Hudson, Sprout Social, Hootsuite), CRM platforms, and newsletter tools

Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization which does not require sponsorship by the employer for a visa.
