Senior Engineer – Power Systems

What you’ll do
As a Senior Engineer in our Power Systems Team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to projects and programs that make a real difference and be part of a team that embraces challenges, welcomes diverse ideas, and engineer solutions with people and outcomes in mind. You will:
Lead and execute generator, battery energy storage, solar and wind farm grid connection studies in accordance with AEMO, NSP and NER requirements.
Develop and validate RMS and EMT models for inverter-based resources and network assets.
Perform power system studies including load flow, fault level, dynamic stability, system strength, harmonic and EMT analyses.
Prepare technical reports and support R0/R1/R2 modelling and GPS compliance processes.
Interface with developers, OEMs, network service providers, AEMO and other stakeholders throughout the connection process.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring and quality assurance for power system studies and deliverables.
Support project development, due diligence and technical advisory services for renewable energy and transmission projects.
What you’ll bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
6+ years of experience in power systems engineering, preferably within the Australian NEM.
RPEQ, CPEng or equivalent professional accreditation.
Demonstrated experience delivering grid connection studies for renewable energy, BESS or transmission projects.
Strong knowledge of the National Electricity Rules (NER), AEMO requirements and Generator Performance Standards (GPS).
Experience with power system software such as PSCAD, PSS®E, PowerFactory, EMTP or equivalent.
Proven capability in EMT modelling and analysis of inverter-based resources.
Strong technical report writing, stakeholder management and communication skills.
Project management and client-facing consulting experience
