Location: Stratford, ON (onsite)
Salary Range: $62,000-$65,000 annually

As our next Jr. PLC Specialist, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, developing, and supporting automation and control systems within our manufacturing operations. Your expertise in PLC programming, robotics, electrical controls, and automation technologies will play a key role in supporting production reliability, equipment improvements, and new automation projects.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment
• Program and troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron platforms
• Develop and maintain HMI applications and operator interfaces
• Program and support servo motion control systems
• Program, integrate, and troubleshoot robotic systems including Fanuc, ABB, and KUKA robots
• Integrate electrical and automation systems into new and existing manufacturing equipment
• Design control panels, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs)
• Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring, fuses, and industrial power distribution systems
• Support automation cell improvements and equipment upgrades
• Train and support maintenance personnel on automation system operation, functionality, and troubleshooting
• Mentor licensed electricians in PLC programming and controls troubleshooting techniques
• Participate in continuous improvement projects related to automation, controls, and robotics
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or a relevant College Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience with industrial controls and robotics in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams
• Ability to lead and support automation projects when required
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of integrity, accountability, and results orientation

Technical Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of Studio 5000, RSLogix, TIA Portal, STEP 7, and Starter software
• PLC programming experience with Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron systems
• HMI programming experience
• Servo system programming and integration
• Industrial robotics programming and troubleshooting
• Electrical control system design and implementation
• AutoCAD proficiency
• Strong Microsoft Office skills

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience programming Cognex, Keyence, or IRVision camera systems
• Lean Six Sigma training or certification
• Continuous Improvement project experience
• Advanced robotic integration experience
• Experience supporting high-volume automotive manufacturing operations
