Description
We’re rethinking homes for how people really live, and we’re looking for a Finance Business Partner, Supply Chain to join our Finance team to help shape the future of living — one thoughtful detail at a time.
Castlery is scaling thoughtfully, with Finance partnering the business to turn complex operational data into clear commercial decisions. Success in this role means turning supply chain and operational data into clear commercial actions that improve cost visibility, protect gross margin and deliver measurable savings.
What You’ll Be Doing:
This role blends commercial finance with supply chain analytics . As the finance partner to our Supply Chain teams, you will own the financial view of COGS, inventory and fulfilment performance across significant budgets and spend. You will connect operational decisions to product margin and the P&L, challenge assumptions and turn complex data into actions that improve profitability and support Castlery’s growth.
Supply Chain Cost & Performance
- Analyse our end-to-end cost to serve, from landed product cost through freight, warehousing, fulfilment and last-mile delivery, and identify the key drivers behind each.
- Provide variance analysis and commentary on cost of sales, gross margin and supply chain performance, connecting financial results to the operational drivers behind them.
- Identify cost leakage, inefficiencies and savings opportunities across our logistics network, partnering stakeholders to implement improvements and ensure the expected benefits are realised in the P&L.
- Own budgeting, forecasting and performance management for Supply Chain and COGS, working with business leaders to understand risks, opportunities and key operational drivers.
- Improve forecast accuracy and cost visibility through driver-based planning across freight, warehousing, fulfilment and last-mile delivery.
Inventory & Product Profitability
- Support buy budget and open-to-buy planning with the Category, Demand and Supply Planning teams, tracking commitments against budget and flagging risks early.
- Partner Category, Demand and Supply Planning teams on inventory performance, using stock cover, sell-through and ageing trends to influence purchasing decisions and reduce margin and working-capital risk.
- Analyse pricing, margin and SKU efficiency by category and collection to support range reviews and pricing decisions.
- Analyse refunds and returns by product to catch quality issues and margin leakage early.
Reporting & Decision Support
- Build and maintain the data foundation for monthly business reviews: trusted, automated reporting on cost, margin and inventory across our markets.
- Build driver-based models and business cases for supply chain investments, network changes, pricing and other strategic decisions, clearly evaluating the financial trade-offs, risks and returns.
- Track approved investments and improvement initiatives against their business cases, ensuring expected savings, margin improvements and operational benefits are delivered.
- Break complex questions into clear analyses, present findings in plain language to senior stakeholders, and support and challenge the business toward fact-based decisions.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 to 5 years of experience in management accounting, FP&A or commercial finance, including experience partnering operational teams.
- Exposure to supply chain, logistics, retail, e-commerce or another operationally complex business environment would be advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business or a related field; a professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA or ACCA is preferred but not a must.
- Strong understanding of the P&L, COGS, gross margin and the ability to connect operational metrics such as freight, warehousing and inventory to financial outcomes.
- Strong financial modelling and Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently across large and complex datasets.
- Experience with SQL, BI tools, NetSuite or logistics and 3PL data would be advantageous.
- Strong analytical rigour and attention to detail, with the ability to reconcile complex data, investigate unexpected movements and communicate conclusions confidently.
- Commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge the business, influence stakeholders and translate analysis into action.
- Ability to operate independently as a senior individual contributor while building strong cross-functional relationships.
