As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Emergency Medical Technician Driver in Reading, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.
Pay Rate: $25.10 / Hour
Valid Driver's License
- Candidates must possess a valid driver's license that complies with the Driver Policy Requirements.
- Additionally, candidates must hold a valid driver's license that is recognized in the job state where they will be employed.
EMT Certification
- Candidates applying for positions that require emergency medical response must have a current EMT Certification.
Technical Proficiency
- Candidates must demonstrate comfort and proficiency in using a computer or tablet for job-related tasks.
Customer Service Experience
- Candidates should have prior customer service experience, showcasing their ability to interact effectively with clients and customers.

- Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
- Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.
This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a manufacturing and industrial location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, parking areas, and the facility perimeter, documenting observations and unusual activity.
- Monitor entry and exit points, verify authorized access for employees, contractors, and visitors, and maintain accurate security-related logs and records.
- Report maintenance hazards, damaged access points, suspicious activity, and other security-related concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Possess EMT certification.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Comfortably use a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
