Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Certified Anesthesia Technician, you will be a central figure supporting the Anesthesia Department in providing safe and efficient care, meticulously preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment and supplies. You will play a vital role ensuring operating room readiness and patient well-being.Every day, you will expertly set up, calibrate, and test anesthesia machines and monitors, meticulously ensuring all necessary medications and supplies are organized per protocols. You will also assist Anesthesiologists with patient positioning and line insertions, perform equipment maintenance and decontamination, and rapidly respond to urgent needs, strictly adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.To be successful in this role, you will combine a current Certified Anesthesia Technician credential, a profound understanding of anesthesia equipment and safety, and exceptional attention to detail. You will demonstrate a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced OR environment dedicated to optimal patient care during surgery.
Job Requirements
Required
- Six months to one year experience
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting in patient care
- Three years lead or supervisory experience
- Certified Anesthesia Technician (CER.A.T.)
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
- Required to be flexible in scheduling
- Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
