Your Role.
As a Project Manager, you'll serve as a trusted partner to clients and project teams throughout the lifecycle of construction and capital improvement projects.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading projects from planning and procurement through construction and occupancy.
- Procuring and managing architects, engineers, contractors, and specialty consultants.
- Coordinating project teams to ensure alignment with scope, budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
- Building strong relationships with school district leaders, government stakeholders, and client teams.
- Facilitating decision-making and helping clients navigate complex project challenges.
- Monitoring project budgets, schedules, risk factors, and key performance indicators.
- Identifying and resolving project issues before they impact outcomes.
- Ensuring compliance with PMR and Plante Moran policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Providing clear communication and project updates to leadership, stakeholders, and project teams.
The Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in construction, architecture, engineering, owner's representation, or project management.
- Experience managing building design and construction projects from planning through completion.
- Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Travel: 20% throughout midwest US
- Position is based in Metro Detroit and candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance.
Preferred:
- Experience supporting K-12, higher education, municipal, government, or other public-sector projects.
- Experience working on behalf of project owners or within a consulting environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera, BIM, or related project management technologies.
This is an exempt position, so you may have to work hours that exceed the standard 40-hour work week.

The compensation range reflects the base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this position across our offices in the following regions: CO, IL, OH, and MA. Please review the position description for the applicable geographic location. Generally, experienced hires are not hired at or near the maximum salary range, as compensation decisions take into account a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to: responsibilities, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. For early career roles, including campus hires, we offer standardized, market-based starting salaries among individuals within the same hiring group. This approach ensures fairness and reflects current industry benchmarks for entry-level talent.
