We are seeking an experienced and motivated Centrifugal Chiller Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair centrifugal chillers and related HVAC equipment. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, experience working with commercial and industrial HVAC systems, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest safety standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on centrifugal chillers from manufacturers such as Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, and Mitsubishi.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigerant, and control system issues.
  • Start up, commission, and optimize centrifugal chiller systems.
  • Perform vibration analysis, oil analysis, refrigerant charging, leak detection, and performance testing.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Calibrate and service associated equipment including cooling towers, pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and control systems.
  • Complete detailed service reports, maintenance records, and customer documentation.
  • Communicate equipment status, repair recommendations, and maintenance needs to customers.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA regulations, EPA refrigerant handling requirements, and company safety policies.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency service as needed.
  • Maintain service vehicle, tools, and inventory.

Requirements

Age & License: 18+ years old, valid driver’s license, clean driving record
Education: High school diploma (HVAC trade school or associate’s degree preferred)
Experience: 10+ years working on chillers and related equipment
Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills, basic computer proficiency, EPA Universal Certification

Professionalism: Excellent communication and a professional image
Flexibility: Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel when needed
Bonus: Turbocor experience is a strong plus!
