Description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

As a Water & Wastewater Project Engineer, you will play a key role in the planning, design, and delivery of municipal water, wastewater, and utility infrastructure projects for public-sector clients. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, you will apply your technical expertise to develop innovative and practical solutions that support the treatment, conveyance, storage, and distribution of water resources.

This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer who enjoys technical problem-solving, project coordination, and growing leadership responsibilities. You will serve as a key technical contributor on project teams, lead design tasks, coordinate with clients and stakeholders, and support the successful delivery of projects that improve community infrastructure and environmental sustainability.

This position supports projects involving water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, pump stations, lift stations, treatment facilities, storage tanks, and related infrastructure. The successful candidate will be involved in all phases of project delivery, including planning, engineering evaluations, design, permitting, bidding, and construction support.

Projected Compensation: $130,000 - $165,000+ annually, depending on experience and qualifications. Compensation above this range may be considered for candidates whose experience and expertise significantly exceed the minimum requirements.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and review engineering plans, design calculations, specifications, and technical documentation for water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pipelines, pump stations, storage facilities, and treatment systems.

• Apply engineering standards, design criteria, and regulatory requirements to ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and compliance.

• Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure design quality, consistency, and technical integrity across project deliverables.

• Lead project tasks and coordinate design efforts with internal teams, subconsultants, clients, and regulatory agencies.

• Serve as a Task Lead or Assistant Project Manager on multidisciplinary project teams, with opportunities to manage projects and contracts valued at $500,000+.

• Support project planning, cost estimating, scheduling, and implementation of quality control processes throughout project development.

• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.

• Assist with proposal preparation, client coordination, and project pursuits in support of business development efforts.

• Contribute to securing and delivering approximately $100,000 to $500,000+ in new work annually.

What You'll Need:

• 6 to 12 years of experience in water and wastewater engineering.

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related engineering discipline.

• Strong understanding of water and wastewater infrastructure design, permitting, and project delivery.

• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience working with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and public-sector agencies.

• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD and Civil 3D is preferred, but not required.
