Hydraulic Engineer

The Company

Vital Design Solutions Pty Ltd (Vital) is a young and dynamic Canberra based company which operates in the expanding engineering and construction industries.  Vital specialises in the Building Services sector of Hydraulic and Civil Design with a strong focus on producing high quality, accurate documentation for our clients.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated person that is going to enhance our team. As a Hydraulic Engineer at Vital Design Solutions, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• The ability to complete projects under the guidance of senior staff from inception to completion.
• Consult with clients, other industry professionals, and authorities.
• Attend site visits as required and report accordingly.
• Lead a team of Draftspersons and Designers.

You will be required to design elements within the Hydraulics discipline. These include, but are not limited to:

• Water Services (cold, heated, reclaimed, recycled and specialty water systems)
• Drainage Services (sanitary, stormwater, subsurface and trade waste)
• Gas Services (natural gas and liquified petroleum gas)
• Waste Water Management (black and grey water harvesting and tradewaste treatment)
• Stormwater Management (retention systems, detention systems and treatment facilities)

Minimum Requirements

• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in engineering fields. 
• One year of prior experience working as a Hydraulic Engineer, Civil Engineer, or Mechanical Engineer. 
• Demonstrated proficiency in 2D AutoCAD, PDF Software, and the full Office suite.
• Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems including storm water, sewer, sanitary plumbing, and water reticulation. 
• Excellent time management and the ability to effectively meet deadlines.
• Ability to complete projects to a high standard.
• Knowledge of Revit highly desirable, however not essential.
• Knowledge of ACT standards desirable, however not essential.

To be negotiated depending on experience.
