Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Logistics and Material Management Specialist to provide comprehensive operational support for training and assembly facilities at a technical site.

The role covers the complete material flow, from goods receiving, SAP S/4HANA booking and inventory management through material provisioning, picking, packaging, and shipping preparation.

The objective is to ensure a smooth, complete, accurate, and fully traceable flow of materials. Particular attention is given to correct material allocation, inventory accuracy, serial-number traceability, and timely processing of goods receipts in SAP S/4HANA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and inspect incoming goods and materials for completeness and visible damage.
  • Compare deliveries with delivery notes, purchase orders, and accompanying documentation.
  • Identify, clarify, and document discrepancies, shortages, damages, and incorrect deliveries.
  • Process goods receipts promptly in SAP S/4HANA.
  • Maintain material and inventory data, including serial numbers and inventory records.
  • Ensure clear identification and traceability of technical components.
  • Store and organize materials in designated warehouse locations.
  • Maintain order, cleanliness, and efficient use of warehouse and staging areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and perform inventory corrections where required.
  • Conduct regular and ad-hoc stocktaking and reconcile physical inventory with SAP records.
  • Prepare and maintain packing lists for training and assembly facilities.
  • Pick and allocate materials, including supplementary materials and small parts, to specific systems, projects, or orders.
  • Ensure timely material availability for assembly activities.
  • Coordinate with assembly teams and project stakeholders regarding missing or incorrect materials.
  • Track outstanding components and follow up on material shortages.
  • Perform completeness and final checks covering quantities, material numbers, serial numbers, and allocations.
  • Document missing parts and discrepancies before handover to assembly or packaging.
  • Prepare, maintain, and print final contents lists and attach them to relevant equipment.
  • Label IT racks, components, packaging units, and other materials.
  • Package technical equipment, IT racks, and associated materials securely for transportation.
  • Consolidate main and supplementary materials into complete shipping units.
  • Verify packing and contents lists before handover to shipping or logistics providers.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of warehouse and material management processes.

Required Qualifications

Professional Qualification

  • Completed vocational training as a Warehouse Logistics Specialist, Warehouse Specialist, or equivalent.
  • Alternatively, at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in warehouse logistics.

SAP S/4HANA – Mandatory

  • At least 6 months of demonstrable practical experience with SAP S/4HANA covering:
    • Goods receipt processing
    • Inventory management
    • Material master data
    • Serial number management
    • Inventory corrections

Logistics & Material Management Experience

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience within the last 5 years covering:
    • Goods receiving
    • Warehousing
    • Picking
    • Inventory management
    • Shipping preparation

Documentation & IT Skills

  • At least 1 year of experience preparing and maintaining:
    • Packing lists
    • Contents lists
    • Inventory lists
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including:
    • Filters
    • VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
    • Pivot tables

Material Provisioning

  • At least 1 year of experience with:
    • Packing lists
    • Order- or system-specific material allocation
    • Missing-part tracking
    • Coordination with assembly teams or project stakeholders

Packaging & Shipping

  • At least 1 year of practical experience in the professional packaging, labeling, and shipping preparation of technical components.

Traceability & Inventory Quality

  • At least 1 year of practical experience with:
    • Serialisation
    • Inventory management
    • Labelling
    • Picking
    • Completeness checks
    • Component traceability

Language Requirements

  • German: minimum B2, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • Ability to communicate and document effectively in German in a professional working environment.

Personal Skills

  • High level of accuracy and quality awareness.
  • Strong attention to detail and responsibility when handling inventory and serialised components.
  • Structured and independent working approach.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple warehouse, receiving, material provisioning, and shipping activities.

Additional Requirements

  • Willingness and ability to perform physical warehouse, picking, packaging, and material-handling activities.
  • Ability to comply with applicable occupational health, safety, and security requirements.
  • The position is predominantly on-site (approximately 95%).
  • Willingness to undertake occasional business travel, up to approximately 5% of working time.
  • Candidates must be able to provide the required personal information for applicable security and compliance checks.
