With a Level III-N Trauma Center, Level II Special Care Nursery, and Magnet®-recognized nursing excellence, we deliver compassionate, high-quality care across southern New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts.

Our extensive network includes more than 500 providers and over 70 primary care and specialty practices through Foundation Medical Partners, ensuring coordinated, patient-centered care for the communities we serve. We are committed to fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation while providing exceptional care for every patient, every day.

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant in our Orthopedic Surgery Practice, you will provide both clinical and administrative support under the supervision of providers and practice leadership. This role is integral to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to patients with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions throughout their treatment journey.

You will work alongside orthopedic surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other care team members to support patient visits, pre- and post-operative care, imaging coordination, casting and splinting, patient education, and follow-up care. This position combines hands-on clinical responsibilities with compassionate patient interaction in a fast-paced specialty practice environment.

What You'll Do

  • Support orthopedic surgeons and providers in delivering in-person, telephone, and telehealth patient care.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, injections, and surgical consultations.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, medications, and clinical information within the electronic medical record.
  • Assist with casting, splinting, wound care, dressing changes, and other orthopedic treatments as directed.
  • Coordinate imaging studies, diagnostic testing, referrals, and surgical scheduling.
  • Educate patients regarding surgical preparation, post-operative care, recovery expectations, and rehabilitation plans.
  • Assist with pre-visit planning and facilitate post-operative follow-up care.
  • Maintain exam rooms, clinical supplies, and medical equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, HIPAA, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling, patient communication, medical records management, and care coordination.
  • Participate in staff development, annual competencies, and the onboarding and mentoring of new team members.
  • Contribute to a collaborative and patient-focused practice environment.

Who You Are

You are a compassionate healthcare professional who enjoys building relationships with patients and thrives in a collaborative team setting. You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering exceptional patient experiences while supporting quality orthopedic care.

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant Medical Assistant experience.
  • Current BLS/CPR certification.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and computer applications.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in a clinical environment.

Preferred

  • Current Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • Previous experience in an orthopedic or surgical specialty practice.
  • Knowledge of orthopedic conditions, procedures, casting, and splinting techniques.
  • Experience supporting surgical patients throughout pre- and post-operative care.

Why You'll Love Us

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and prescription coverage.
  • Disability, life, and pet insurance options.
  • Tuition reimbursement opportunities.
  • Nursing Student Loan Paydown Program.
  • 403(b) retirement plan with employer contributions.
  • Generous earned time accrual.
  • Career development and growth opportunities.
  • Supportive team culture focused on collaboration, respect, and patient-centered care.
