Overview
Position Summary
As an ETS Network Specialist, you will design, configure, and support industrial control system (ICS) networks across a variety of customer sites and industries. You will ensure secure, high-performance communications between control devices, servers, and remote systems, supporting both project execution and long-term infrastructure planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design Layer 2/3 network architectures for control systems, including switch, router, cellular modems/routers, and firewall configurations
- Install, configure, and support industrial switches (e.g., Cisco, Stratix, Hirschmann), VPNs, and VLANs
- Implement network segmentation and security best practices per NIST 800-82 and/or ISA/IEC 62443 standards
- Troubleshoot connectivity issues in client networks
- Document network diagrams, IP schemes, and device inventories
- Coordinate with project engineers and field personnel to deploy and validate networks during FAT/SAT
- Maintain firewall rules and access control policies for control system integrity
- Participate in client meetings to discuss networking strategy, cybersecurity, and schedules
- Travel up to 50%
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in industrial networking or OT environments
- Working knowledge of routing, switching, and VLAN management
- Ability to terminate and troubleshoot ethernet cable as well as troubleshoot Fiber Optic
- Strong understanding of control system communication protocols and architecture
- Familiarity with industrial network security standards
- Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting remote systems
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, or related field
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Stratix certifications)
- Experience in automation, SCADA, or process control environments
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks applicable to industrial automation and controls networks
