The Associate Director, Actuarial Pricing & Inforce Management is a senior actuarial leader responsible for driving actuarial pricing excellence across product initiatives, new business strategy, and company‑wide initiatives. The role ensures adherence to corporate pricing standards, upholds actuarial integrity, and provides trusted actuarial pricing leadership to senior stakeholders.

This position plays a critical role in shaping profitable growth, mentoring actuarial talent, and supporting the Chief Actuary on strategic and ad‑hoc initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:

Pricing Leadership & Product Initiatives

  • Lead actuarial pricing for new product developments, repricing exercises, product enhancements, and in‑force initiatives, ensuring alignment with profitability, risk appetite, and corporate objectives.
  • Own end‑to‑end pricing deliverables, including assumptions setting, financial modelling, experience analysis, sensitivity testing, and documentation.
  • Provide expert pricing recommendations and clear articulation of pricing impacts to senior management and key stakeholders.

Actuarial Governance & Integrity

  • Act as a strong advocate of actuarial pricing discipline, ensuring strict adherence to corporate pricing standards, governance frameworks, and internal control requirements.
  • Uphold the highest standards of actuarial integrity and professionalism, ensuring pricing decisions are robust, transparent, and defensible.
  • Serve as a senior reviewer of pricing work, identifying potential risks, limitations, and areas for improvement proactively.

Business & Company‑wide Representation

  • Represent Actuarial Pricing in cross‑functional and company initiatives (e.g. strategic transformation, new distribution strategies, regulatory changes, or system implementations).
  • Partner effectively with Product, Finance, Distribution, Underwriting, Risk, and Operations to drive commercially sound and compliant outcomes.
  • Provide actuarial perspectives to balance commercial objectives with long‑term sustainability.

New Business Strategy & Profitability

  • Lead and shape the New Business pricing strategy, ensuring pricing actions are aligned with long‑term profitability, value of new business, and return on capital.
  • Monitor pricing performance post‑launch and recommend corrective actions to ensure pricing objectives are achieved.
  • Support optimization of pricing levers to competitively position products while meeting profitability targets.

In-force Portfolio Management

  • Oversee the in-force portfolio management mandate, focusing on persistency, business quality, and delivery of desired portfolio profitability and value.
  • Identify key drivers of in-force performance and recommend targeted actions to address emerging risks, gaps, or opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Distribution, Finance, Risk, Product, and regional teams to drive initiatives that improve portfolio quality, retention, and long-term value.

Support to Chief Actuary

  • Support the Chief Actuary on ad‑hoc, strategic, and high‑impact projects, including management reporting, regulatory matters, strategic reviews, or board / committee materials.
  • Provide reliable actuarial insights to inform executive‑level decision‑making.

People Leadership & Talent Development

  • Mentor, coach, and develop junior actuarial staff, fostering strong technical capability, business acumen, and professionalism.
  • Act as a role model for actuarial best practices and pricing excellence.
  • Oversee quality of actuarial pricing work, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Drive continuous improvement in pricing methodologies, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency, governance, and insight generation.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance with internal control, audit, and regulatory expectations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Over 8 years of relevant actuarial experience, with substantial exposure to actuarial pricing within life insurance.
  • Fellow or near-Fellow of an internationally recognized actuarial society (e.g. SOA, IFoA, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience leading pricing initiatives and providing actuarial advice to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong business acumen to identify and prioritize initiatives that drive business performance, profitability, and growth.
  • Strong analytical and modelling skills, with the ability to translate technical results into clear business insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to operate independently, exercise sound judgement, and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

When you join our team:

  • We’ll empower you to learn and grow the career you want.
  • We’ll recognize and support you in a flexible environment where well-being and inclusion are more than just words.
  • As part of our global team, we’ll support you in shaping the future you want to see.
