Role: Manager of Research, Preclinical, PPM and Alliances IT Services (Service Owner)
Location: Krakow/Poland (4 days onsite)
Based in our new IT hub at Unity Tower in Krakow, this is an exciting opportunity to join Galderma’s growing IT presence in Poland as an IT Service Owner. Reporting to the IT R&D Director, you will lead the global IT services portfolio supporting Research, Preclinical, Portfolio and Project Management (PPM), and External Alliances. This is a strategic, high-impact Planisware-heavy role at the heart of R&D. You will take end-to-end ownership of the PPM service and a broader R&D application and service landscape that supports scientific and preclinical workflows, portfolio governance, and collaboration with external partners. The role includes an expected learning curve across parts of the portfolio, supported by domain experts and existing delivery partners.
Key responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the end-to-end IT service lifecycle for the Research, Preclinical, PPM and Alliances services, from strategy and design through to operations, enhancements, and continuous improvement.
- Shape and maintain a 3-year service roadmap, covering demand, capacity, and budget planning in close partnership with business stakeholders, with a strong focus on Planisware.
- Ensure reliable, high-performing IT service delivery that supports global R&D execution, portfolio governance, and partner collaboration.
- Lead and coordinate a blended delivery model, managing internal teams, nearshore/offshore resources, and external vendors.
- Assess and prioritize incoming demands and change requests, ensuring delivery aligned with business priorities, timelines, and cost models.
- Establish and enforce service governance (including integrations, data flows, access models and system usage) in line with Galderma standards.
- Act as the central IT point of coordination across Architects, Security, Data, Integration, and Operations teams, ensuring alignment and dependency management.
- Own vendor and contract management, including service level definition, performance oversight, and ongoing optimization.
- Drive continuous improvement, simplification and consolidation initiatives to build a scalable and predictable service model.
- Oversee service monitoring, reporting, and control across financials, resources, and technical performance.
Skills and qualifications
- Master’s Degree in information management, computer systems, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in IT service delivery and/or application management within R&D, scientific, engineering, or product development environments.
- Must-have: strong hands-on experience with Planisware (service ownership, operations, governance, stakeholders, integrations, reporting, and vendor management).
- Preferred: experience with Coptis (or similar formulation/R&D platforms).
- Experience with R&D and scientific application ecosystems, either directly or through similar platforms, for example ELN/LIMS/scientific platforms, modelling/analytics tools, collaboration and documentation tools (examples currently in scope include ChemDraw, WinNonlin, Dotmatics, Benchling, Mnova, QSAR tools, FlowJo, GraphPad, XLfit, EndNote, Smartsheet, Prochain).
- Strong experience working with external vendors and managed service providers within complex delivery models.
- Solid foundation in IT Service Management, IT Governance, Financial Management, and Vendor Management.
- Proven ability to ramp up quickly across new applications and manage a broad portfolio through structured service management and stakeholder engagement.
- Fluency in English, additional languages are an advantag
