About role:
The Sustainability Business Development Manager drives Trinseo’s growth in sustainable plastics by identifying new market opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and advancing innovative, environmentally responsible solutions. The role ensures alignment with evolving customer expectations and regulatory requirements while strengthening Trinseo’s competitive position, brand reputation, and contribution to a circular and sustainable economy.
Responsibilities
The Sustainability Business Development manager plays a crucial role for Trinseo in the sustainable plastics industry for several reasons:
- Market Expansion and Innovation: Business development helps identify new markets and opportunities for sustainable plastics and source quality waste for recycling. This includes exploring innovative materials and technologies that can reduce environmental impact. - 20%
- Strategic Partnerships: Building relationships with key stakeholders, such as suppliers, customers, and regulatory bodies, is essential. These partnerships can drive the adoption of sustainable practices and create a more robust supply chain. - 20%
- Consumer Demand: As consumers become more environmentally conscious, there is a growing demand for sustainable products. The business development manager ensures that Trinseo can meet this demand by developing and promoting eco-friendly plastic solutions. - 20%
- Regulatory Compliance: With increasing regulations aimed at reducing plastic waste, the business development manager helps Trinseo to stay ahead of legislative changes. This proactive approach can prevent potential legal and financial repercussions. - 20%

Mark: It's one year contract position.
Qualifications
Minimum Education Required:
- Bachelor or Master of Science Economics, Sustainability Business, Engineering or similar or University degree and demonstratable experience in a leading role within (a) circular business(es) for more than 10 years
Minimum Experience(years and type):
- 10+ years of commercial / business experience in a plastics (or better) sustainable plastics environment
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Familiar with Sustainability technologies, LCA and product carbon footprints
- Strong Business acumen (via certification, degrees or related business experience)
- Understanding of plastics processing, design and properties would be useful but not essential.
- Strong Collaborative skills
- Proactive mindset and can-do attitude
- Can influence and steer decisions
- Excel, Innovation Management/Project Management skills
- Flexibility to travel ca 20%
- English language proficiency at professional level
- French language proficiency is a plus
