Head of Web Development | Cyprus, Larnaca | Hybrid
One of our clients is looking for a strategic and experienced Head of Web Development to lead the technology strategy, architecture, and delivery of global, high-traffic websites.
In this role, you will lead web development teams, drive scalable website solutions, and collaborate with Marketing, IT, Product, UX/UI, and Compliance teams to create fast, secure, and conversion-focused digital experiences.
- Location: Larnaca, Cyprus
- Hybrid: 2 days/week WFH. The first 2 months, minimum, will be fully on-site.
- Team Management: The Head will be responsible for around 35-40 developers (backend & frontend), plus a small team of Manual QA Testers (4-5 people).
- Tech Stack: React and Next.js (frontend); Python and Django (backend). For the backend, experience with PHP & Laravel is also fine.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor Frontend, Backend, and QA teams
- Own website technology strategy and roadmap
- Oversee development of corporate websites, CMS platforms, and supporting systems
- Drive website performance, SEO, Core Web Vitals, and conversion optimization
- Ensure scalable architecture, security, and best development practices
- Introduce AI-driven tools to improve engineering efficiency
Requirements:
- 10+ years of web development experience, including 5+ years leading engineering teams
- Strong expertise in React, Next.js, Node.js, Python, HTML, and CSS
- Experience building and scaling high-traffic websites
- Strong understanding of APIs, databases, performance, SEO, and security
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience in fintech, trading, regulated industries, or global digital platforms is a plus.
