Technical Sales Engineer – USA
Location: Flexible within the USA (must have convenient access to a major airport)
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and results-oriented Technical Sales Engineer to drive the growth of our clients electrolyte chemicals and related product portfolio across North America. This role combines technical expertise with commercial acumen to develop new business, support existing customers, and deliver tailored chemical solutions for a range of industrial applications.
The successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, understand manufacturing processes, provide technical recommendations, and work closely with internal teams to ensure exceptional customer service and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while identifying and securing new business opportunities.
- Expand the customer base within assigned territories by actively prospecting and developing new accounts.
- Understand customer manufacturing processes and recommend appropriate electrolyte products and technical solutions.
- Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and application support to customers.
- Prepare quotations, technical proposals, pricing, and commercial offers.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure timely delivery and high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Provide technical support on product selection, application, handling, storage, and performance.
- Investigate and resolve customer issues by coordinating corrective actions with internal teams.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for business growth.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer visit reports, CRM records, and monthly sales reports.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, industry seminars, and customer meetings.
- Travel extensively throughout the assigned territory and internationally as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline.
- 2–5 years' experience in technical sales, application engineering, or business development within the chemical manufacturing industry.
- Experience with industrial chemicals, electrolytes, electroplating chemicals, battery chemicals, or specialty chemicals is highly desirable.
- Strong technical understanding of chemical processes and industrial manufacturing applications.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to manage customer relationships and identify new business opportunities.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the USA and internationally.
- Ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.
