Specific Role:
We’re looking for a dependable, detail-oriented HR Generalist to support EMIT Technologies’ employees and day-to-day Human Resources operations. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on support across employee relations, payroll administration, HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and employee programs. Reporting to the HR Manager, you’ll work closely with employees, supervisors, Finance, and Talent Acquisition to ensure HR processes are completed accurately, on time, and in compliance with applicable requirements while providing employees with consistent and responsive support.
Key Accountabilities:
- Provide frontline HR support to employees and supervisors regarding company policies, procedures, benefits, payroll, attendance, and general employment questions
- Promote a positive employee experience by responding to questions, resolving concerns, and communicating information in a timely and professional manner
- Support employee relations by gathering information, documenting concerns, and assisting the HR Manager with workplace investigations and resolutions
- Assist managers with performance documentation, corrective actions, attendance management, and consistent policy administration
- Process biweekly payroll accurately and on time, including reviewing timekeeping records, deductions, payroll changes, and employee information
- Process new hire, termination, pay rate, and employment status changes within HR and payroll systems
- Respond to employee payroll questions, research discrepancies, and coordinate timely resolutions
- Partner with the HR Manager and Finance to support payroll accuracy, reporting, audits, and compliance
- Administer onboarding, offboarding, employee status changes, and required employment documentation
- Maintain accurate HRIS records, personnel files, I-9 documentation, E-Verify records, and other required employee and compliance records
- Assist with leave administration, unemployment claims, workers’ compensation documentation, and other HR compliance activities
- Support HR audits, reporting, record retention, and compliance with federal, state, and company requirements
- Support recruiting activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, pre-employment requirements, internal job postings, and onboarding coordination
- Partner with hiring managers and Talent Acquisition to support staffing needs and provide candidates with a positive experience
- Coordinate new hire orientation and ensure required onboarding activities and documentation are completed by each employee’s first day
- Assist with employee engagement activities, recognition programs, wellness initiatives, company events, and HR communications
- Coordinate training logistics and support HR programs and organizational initiatives under the direction of the HR Manager
- Complete assigned HR reporting, audits, compliance activities, and organizational projects according to established timelines
- Perform additional HR and administrative responsibilities based on organizational needs
Qualifications:
- Human Resources certification, such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR, required
- Two or more years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, payroll, or similar Human Resources role preferred
- Experience processing payroll and reviewing employee timekeeping records strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of HR practices, employment laws, compliance requirements, and personnel recordkeeping
- Experience using HRIS, payroll, timekeeping, or applicant tracking systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to maintain accurate payroll, employee, and compliance records
- Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to support employees and supervisors at all levels
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and use sound judgment when handling sensitive employee matters
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Approachable, responsive, and committed to providing timely and professional employee support
- Self-motivated and solutions-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively

Pay Range
$66,500—$82,000 USD
