Your role at Clorox:

The Clorox Company is seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director of Category Procurement for Printing & Specialty Packaging to join our Global Procurement team. The key responsibility of this position involves developing worldwide procurement strategies accross $350 million of spend on 125 suppliers for Clorox on a global scale. These materials play a pivotal role in supporting $7 billion in sales spanning all our brands. Within this role, the categories to be managed encompass corrugate shippers, displays, litho laminated boxes, folding cartons, labels, shrink sleeves and paper bags used in Clorox’s diverse product portfolio. As a key leader in the procurement organization, this role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive world class procurement performance, ensure supply continuity, and meet business objectives in cost, quality, innovation, and sustainability. The individual in this role will have the overarching responsibility for overseeing the global scope and will lead a team of three direct reports.

In this role, you will:

Category Strategy Development & Execution

• Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy for Printing & Specialty procurement that aligns with Clorox’s overall business goals, focusing on cost efficiency, quality, innovation, and sustainability.
• Identify and assess market trends, supplier capabilities, and competitive dynamics within the printing and specialty materials space.
• Establish long-term partnerships with key suppliers, fostering innovation and collaboration.
• Identify opportunities to use AI, automation, analytics, and decision support tools to reduce manual work, simplify employee experiences, and improve service delivery across Procurement operations.

Supplier Relationship Management

• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure continuity of supply, optimize cost, and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct annual performance reviews with key strategic suppliers, ensuring that service, quality, ESG, and delivery commitments are met.
• Partner with suppliers to explore innovation opportunities, developing differentiated solutions that support Clorox’s growth and brand equity.

Cost Management & Value Optimization

• Lead cost management initiatives to deliver annual savings goals, leveraging strategic sourcing, value engineering, and supplier negotiations.
• Manage and optimize spend across the category, identifying and implementing cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or sustainability goals.
• Collaborate with finance and Business Unit teams to track performance against budget targets, identifying and mitigating risks proactively.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement

• Work closely with the R&D, packaging, marketing, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on product requirements and strategic priorities.
• Partner with sustainability teams to drive initiatives that align with Clorox’s environmental goals, ensuring sustainable sourcing practices.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing insights and expertise on market trends, supplier innovation, and best practices

What we look for:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Demonstrated experience in managing packaging procurement categories within a CPG or manufacturing environment.
• Have experience applying AI tools, including GPT-based capabilities, automation tooling, analytics, or decision support solutions to improve operational workflows and internal service delivery.
• Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of driving cost savings and value through strategic sourcing and supplier management.
• Familiarity with supply chain risk management principles, including supplier risk assessment, market intelligence, and scenario planning.
• Proficiency in procurement software and tools (SAP, Ariba, or similar systems).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
• Strong understanding of sustainable sourcing practices and experience in implementing initiatives that drive environmental and social impact.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and a diverse product portfolio.
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships.

We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities, while also allowing for differentiation based on performance. Based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at Clorox in the first half of the applicable range. Your starting pay will depend on job-related factors, including relevant skills, knowledge, experience and location. The applicable salary range for every role in the U.S. is based on your work location and is aligned to one of three zones according to the cost of labor in your area.

–Zone A: $157,600 - $316,700

–Zone B: $144,400 - $290,300

–Zone C: $131,300 - $263,900
