Algorithmic Trading Developer, Low Latency Execution, Associate P3

We're seeking someone to join our Hong Kong Low Latency Execution team as a Software Engineer in Algo department to design, develop, and support the Proxima Legger trading platform, partnering closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable, low-latency trading solutions that support electronic execution workflows and strategic business initiatives..

This is a software engineer III position at Associate level, which is part of the job family responsible for software development.

What you'll do in the role:
- Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.
- Interact regularly with team members and occasionally leadership on a range of topics.
- Design, develop, and enhance components of the Proxima Legger trading platform and its supporting services.
- Deliver high-performance, low-latency software solutions that support electronic trading and execution workflows.
- Maintain and improve system reliability, scalability, observability, and operational support processes.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams on architecture, platform modernization, and strategic technology initiatives.
- Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to improve platform stability. What you'll bring to the role:
- Ability to process information, translate into plans and present summaries to stakeholders.
- Experienced understanding of business line and discipline.
- Understanding of software engineering fundamentals, object-oriented design principles, and distributed systems architecture.
- Experience in designing, developing, and supporting high-performance, low-latency applications in a Linux environment.
- Experience in C++ development and familiarity with modern software development practices, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of electronic trading workflows, financial markets, and order management/execution systems.
- Ability to partner effectively with traders, quants, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience in troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, and delivering resilient, maintainable solutions.
- Understanding of Agile development methodologies and collaborative software delivery practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 4 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role.
