Summer Intern Program

At APA we’re not just about pipelines and power – we’re about powering potential.

Our Summer Intern Program is a structured and supported program that runs for 12 weeks from 30 November to February and gives you a taste of what it’s like to work with us and the energy infrastructure industry.

What can you expect?

  • Meaningful work, on-the-job-training and appropriate supervision whilst you’re learning and gaining hands-on experience.
  • A fully supported program offering comprehensive on-boarding and induction, as well as virtual workshops with your peer cohort and in-person social activities and networking.
  • Opportunity to be considered for our Graduate Program dependant on positions and locations available for the coming year.

About You

  • You are currently studying a Bachelor of Environmental Planning, Indigenous Studies, Social Science, Environmental Science or Geography
  • You’re available to complete a 12-week summer intern program from 30 November 2026
  • You’re an Australian / New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident in Australia.

To be successful in this role you are someone who:

  • Enjoys learning, asking questions and building confidence through experience, knowing you don’t need to have all the answers on day one.
  • Has a strong sense of responsibility and care – you take pride in the work you deliver and are eager to learn how land access, stakeholder engagement and native title considerations help enable major projects, while creating positive outcomes for communities and our customers.
  • Has a collaborative mindset – you value teamwork, bring others along with you and feel comfortable learning from people with different perspectives, disciplines and backgrounds including Traditional Owners, landholders, community stakeholders and project teams.
  • Is motivated to contribute – you’re excited by the opportunity to develop your understanding of land access and native title, support meaningful engagement and help deliver projects that contribute to Australia’s energy future.
