Job Summary:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, is seeking a Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialist to join our faculty. This position offers a dynamic blend of high-risk obstetric care, teaching, research, and regional outreach within a collaborative and supportive environment.

As a full-time faculty member, you will contribute to the clinical, educational, and scholarly missions of the department while caring for some of the highest-risk pregnancies in the region.

Clinical Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide inpatient and outpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine services.

  • Care for high-risk pregnancies and manage complex obstetric cases.

  • Staff a busy antepartum service.

  • Provide consultative services for high-complexity cases.

  • Participate in regional outreach clinics through UW Health Regional Services, including in-person care at regional sites, telehealth services, and collaboration with regional clinical teams.

The Maternal-Fetal Medicine Division performs approximately 19,000 ultrasounds annually in a state-of-the-art diagnostic unit supported by more than 20 sonographers. The division also includes a well-established, ADA-recognized diabetes in pregnancy program. Obstetric services have been primarily located at UnityPoint-Meriter Hospital for more than three decades, with approximately 5,000 deliveries annually in a modern facility that offers a collegial and supportive work environment.

Educational and Academic Responsibilities Include:

  • Teach and provide clinical supervision to medical students, residents, and fellows.

  • Participate in departmental and divisional conferences.

  • Engage in research, education, and advocacy initiatives within the department.

  • Participate in quality improvement activities and hospital and departmental committees.

This position includes protected time for research. Preference will be given to candidates with experience as an independent investigator and a demonstrated record of successful external funding.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Teach medical students, residents, and fellows. 

Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health.  An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

Compensation:

Negotiable, 12 month

Required Qualifications:

  • WI medical license by start date of position.

  • Successful completion of, or current enrollment in (with expected completion of), an ACGME-accredited Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship program.

  • Completed four-year approved/accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Board eligible or certified in MFM.  

  • For appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CHS Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS Track.

  • For appointment at Clinical Associate Professor or Clinical Professor rank on CT Track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CT Track.
