Description
We’re looking for an enthusiastic food prep worker who can deliver outstanding results in the kitchen, prepping meals for our chef/cook. Your main responsibilities will be to stock, prepare, and measure condiments and slice and dice foods. You’ll keep your workstation and equipment clean and follow all required safety protocols.
Good organization skills, the ability to take directions well, and to read recipe instructions and labels in English, as well as handle a variety of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and measuring tools, are required. Some experience and an associate's degree are preferred but not required. If you are a positive self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, we want to meet you! Responsibilities: • Read recipe measurements, meal charts, label instructions in English, and use the correct measuring tools • Perform other basic cooking duties as necessary, such as brewing coffee or tea, preparing soups, reducing sauces, and assisting other cooks in the kitchen if needed • Abide by food safety guidelines and implement COVID-19 safety measures in all food prep areas and stations where food is prepared and kitchen equipment is used • Use the correct amounts of condiments, wash all fruits and vegetables to be peeled, diced, and sliced, slice meats, and mix a variety of sauces • Clean food stations and prep areas and sanitize equipment and kitchen utensils after closing to maintain proper hygiene Qualifications: • Should be able to stand on your feet for long periods of time and also bend, pull, and lift 35-50 pounds • We’d like you to have some kitchen experience and associate’s degree (AA) or equivalent, but it’s not necessary • You have the basic skills necessary to prep food for a chef/cook with minimal supervision expected • Read and comprehend recipes, labels, and meal charts written in English • Experienced in the proper handling of kitchen equipment, sharp knives, and other kitchen tools
