Manager/ Senior Manager (Data Science and AI)

[What the role is]

At IRAS, we are shaping the future of tax administration through data-driven innovation and AI-powered transformation. You will be at the forefront of building intelligent, AI-enabled products and solutions — from Generative AI to Agentic AI systems — that enhance taxpayer services and tax compliance, streamline operations, and deliver real impact to taxpayers.

[What you will be working on]

• Deliver AI Solutions: Design and deploy scalable, cost-effective, robust, and production-ready AI and data analytics solutions that transform business processes and create measurable value. Provide technical guidance to business stakeholders on complex AI or data related issues. Translate data into insights for operational and strategic decision-making.
• Drive Innovation: Explore and implement emerging AI/analytical techniques such as Generative AI, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI systems to keep IRAS at the forefront of AI implementation.
• Shape AI Application Architecture: Research and define future-ready data and AI architectures, tools, and methodologies to support IRAS’ evolving needs. Formulate and implement plans to ensure that the architecture, systems, tools and methodologies can support IRAS’ AI and data needs in the mid to long-term.
• Empower the Community: Share knowledge and mentor data analysts/IRAS data community, strengthening AI/analytics capabilities across IRAS.

[What we are looking for]

• Strong Academic Foundation: Degree in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Business Analytics, or related AI/analytics fields.
• Hands-on AI Expertise: Proven experience in developing and deploying AI and advanced analytics solutions, including big data and machine learning algorithms.
• Technical Mastery:
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python (must-have).
  • Experience with R, Spark, Hadoop, TensorFlow, C++/C#, etc. (nice-to-have).
  • Full-stack development skills (Vue, JavaScript, CSS, Node.js, Python, MongoDB, Postgres, API development and integration).
  • ETL, data pre-processing, data cleansing and validation
• Applied AI Skills: Expertise in machine learning, NLP, deep learning, recommendation systems, and network analytics.
• Generative AI and Agentic AI Experience:
  • Familiarity with RAG architectures (e.g. embedding, vector search, retrieval pipelines)
  • Agentic AI design (e.g. multi-step reasoning, agent orchestration, tool use)
  • Frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent
  • LLM integration (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, Llama, Gemini).
• Cloud & Enterprise Deployment: Experience with Azure, Google Cloud, or AWS for enterprise-scale AI solutions.
• Communication Excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills, stakeholder management skills, and ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear insights for business stakeholders.
