Description
Réalta Technologies are seeking an experienced DeltaV Automation Engineer to support automation activities on a pharmaceutical manufacturing site in Co. Louth.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, configuration, testing, and support of Emerson DeltaV DCS systems, ensuring reliable and compliant control of manufacturing processes.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and implement DeltaV DCS control strategies, including modules, phases, equipment modules, and unit procedures.
- Support automation system development, testing, and commissioning for manufacturing equipment and process systems.
- Collaborate with process, MES, and project teams to ensure successful integration between DeltaV and higher-level systems.
- Perform automation troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve process or control system issues and minimise downtime.
- Support system upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management of DeltaV systems and associated infrastructure.
- Develop and execute automation documentation, including functional specifications, configuration documentation, and test protocols.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and site quality standards.
- Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification activities for new or modified systems.
Job Requirements
- 6+ years’ experience working in automation engineering within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS configuration and troubleshooting.
- Experience developing control strategies, batch phases, and equipment modules within DeltaV.
- Familiarity with DeltaV Batch, DeltaV Live, and system architecture.
- Experience supporting system integration with MES, PLCs, or plant equipment.
- Knowledge of automation validation, testing, and documentation within a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and pharmaceutical manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
