Accounts Payable Clerk

Nouria Energy Corporation is a multi-generational family-owned wholesale fuel distributor, convenience store operator and car wash operator in New England. Our wholesale and retail fuel businesses are multi-branded, which includes Shell, Mobil, Irving, Sunoco, Gulf, Valero, Citgo, Phillips 66, Exxon, and multiple unbranded brands. Our wholesale operations supply branded and unbranded fuel to 300+ locations across New England and New York. The Accounts Payable Clerk will perform accounting and clerical duties related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions.  The ideal candidate must have strong clerical/analytical skills, strong experience with Microsoft products including Outlook and Excel, excellent communication skills, and be able to work proactively and independently in a fast-paced office environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE AP COORDINATOR:

• Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling, and preparing checks, and resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation.
• Assist in Vendor Statement reconciliation.
• Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers.
• Ensures outstanding obligations are credited upon payment, identifies discount opportunities.
• Other related duties as assigned by AP Supervisor

REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE AP COORDINATOR:

• Must be reliable and extremely trustworthy.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with PDI Enterprise a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidential and meticulous records.
• High school diploma required; Business or Accounting degree preferred.
