JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Data Systems Analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining POET’s Plant Information (PI) and related database applications. The primary purpose of this position is to support, troubleshoot, develop, and enhance database tools used across all POET companies to help drive operational improvements. The ideal candidate will meld wide-ranging technical skills with POET business and plant operations knowledge to provide fellow team members access to timely, accurate, and easy-to-consume information.
This is an on-site role located in Sioux Falls, SD. Responsibilities include:
Assist with review, design, implementation and support of AVEVA (formerly OSISoft) PI (Plant Information) database system for all POET companies.
Create and maintain applications that read from and write to databases.
Create and maintain dashboards, reports, charts and other data visualizations to help team members monitor and troubleshoot plant and business processes.
Train users on related software and systems in both one-on-one and group settings.
Work with the Process Automation team to ensure efficient, reliable, and real-time plant data collection.
Work with the IT team regarding network infrastructure, hardware, software, security policies, etc. that may affect the PI (and related) systems.
Create and maintain documentation for applications and general software use.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field. An Associate’s degree and related real-world experience will be considered.
Experience requirement with analysis/systems in mid to large scale computing environments:
Data Systems Analyst I: Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
Data Systems Analyst II: Minimum of 5 years’ experience.
Senior Data Systems Analyst: Minimum of 9 years’ experience.
A good understanding of relational database concepts, including data mining, SQL (query language) and database design.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate large amounts of information with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Experience using some or all of the following technologies: AVEVA (formerly OSISoft) PI, Microsoft SQL Server, VBA, PowerShell, Python, and PowerBI.
Knowledge of the basics of Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis in Excel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Occasional overnight travel may be required.
This position operates in an office environment, working at a personal computer where you may sit or stand. Most of our Sioux Falls office workspace consists of an open-concept design intended to promote open communication and collaboration.
